AM Program – Trouble in Paradise: When Law Firm Operations Fail (Includes Substance Abuse/Wellness)

An examination of law firm operations and the major pitfalls lawyers need to avoid. With many firms working together as part of referral fee agreements, understanding the rule requirements and the reasonableness standards will ensure firms steer clear of possible business and ethical trouble. When there is a disagreement among the attorneys at a firm, when could those issues rise to the level of ethical violations? When a lawyer at the firm is struggling with substance abuse and it is impacting the firm, what should firm colleagues be doing?

PM Program – ARDC 50th Anniversary Retrospective and Conversations on Diversity with the Commission on Professionalism (Includes DEI)

The afternoon program will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ARDC with two panels that will examine the origins of major cases and rules and their impact on Illinois attorneys. The program also will explore the challenges of having productive conversations about diversity to assist Illinois lawyers in learning how to embrace DEI in their day-to-day practice.
